The Serenity Prayer

 God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and the wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen

In My Next Life

 Gonna Be A Bear

In this life I'm a woman. In my next life, I'd like to come back as a bear. When you're a bear, you get to hibernate. You do nothing but sleep for six months. I could deal with that.

Before you hibernate, you're suppose to eat yourself stupid. I could deal with that too.

When you're a girl bear, you birth children ( who are the size of a walnut ) while you're sleeping, and wake to partially grown, cute, cuddly cubs. I could definitely deal with that.

If you're a mother bear, everyone knows you mean business. You swat anyone who bothers your cubs. If your cubs get out of line, you swat them too. I could deal with that.

If you're a bear, your mate EXPECTS you to wake up growling. He EXPECTS you will have hairy legs and excess body fat.

         Yup, gonna be a bear!

My Broken Heart

Tossing and turning in my bed, facing nightmares
that lie ahead, the many feelings that I now dread, from all the lies I was fed. The open wounds and how they've bled, the broken heart that feels so dead, the words that still remain unsaid, a time when I was just misled. The space you've rented in my head, the many tears that have been shed, all the signs that I misread, a love that's now forever dead!
( Today I felt the need to purge, and clear all the negativity of someone who has hurt me beyond belief, and clear my heart and head from the rented space she occupied. Now my life begins new again! )

Redefining The Journey

 Every now and then,
someone comes into our lives,
to teach us a lesson,
and open our eyes.
Some meetings are by chance,
others are just meant to be,
certain people are sent to us,
to help us reach our destiny.
Everything happens for a reason
and sometimes people drift apart,
but not before they touch our lives,
and leave a footprint on our heart.

Life Is Too Short

There comes a time in life when you have to let go of all the pointless drama and the people who create it, and surround yourself with people who make you laugh so hard that you forget the bad and focus solely on the good.  After all, life is too short to be anything but happy!

Guardian Angels

God gave us each an angel
To watch over us with love.
They're always carrying messages
To Him in Heaven above.

They warn us during danger,
Encourage us to do what is right,
And will always guard and guide us,
Throughout the day and night.

God sent them to protect us,
When crisis comes our way,
And to aid us with our problems
That we encounter everyday.

Thank you, my God in Heaven,
For our Guardian Angels dear.
They're just a token of Your love
To help us overcome life's fears.

Somewhere Over The Rainbow │Israel Kamakawiwoʻole (Brother IZ)

Israel Kamakawiwoʻole was a remarkable person and entertainer.  He was born on the island of Oahu on May 20, 1959 in Kuakini Hospital, located in beautiful Nuuanu valley.  Israel's parents noticed, even as an infant, that their son had special spiritual qualities and gifts.  In his early childhood he lived with his parents in Kaimuki, a sleepy little town located just outside of Honolulu.  But, as fate would have it, as a young teenager, his family relocated to Makaha on the extreme West coast of Oahu.  It was there that he met Moon Kauakahi, Sam Gray, Jerome Koko, and they formed the legendary vocal group, the Makaha Sons of Niʻihau.  The rest, as they say, is history.  By-the-way, Makaha is one of the most hallowed places on the island of Oahu.  It is right next to the sacred Kaena Point, that the Hawaiians believe to be the portal to Heaven.  Actually, I also believe that the be so.  Israel's haunting rendition of "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" is a Twentieth-Century classic.  It has been used in numerous films and advertisements internationally.  It is interesting to note that Israel's recording is very simple and honest.  It does not contain any drums, bass, or background vocals.  It's just Israel singing and playing his ukulele.  There are no pretensions, just a sort of innocent humbleness, that is so intoxicating to the ears and heart.  Singlehandedly, Israel was responsible for a resurgence in the popularity of the ukulele in Hawaii and elsewhere.  You might say that Israel helped pave the way for ukulele virtuosos like Jake Shimabukuro, to be noticed and heard.  Israel ceased his earthly existence on June 26, 1997 in Honolulu.  Please click on this link to purchase Israel Kamakawiwoʻole's beautiful "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" from Amazon.com:  Over The Rainbow - Israel Kamakawiwoʻole

My Mom

 My Mom

I'm feeling sentimental today so I'm not doing my usual post.  I have been thinking so very much about my mom.  She's been gone now from me for well over 13 years.  But for me, it feels like just yesterday!  She was more than a mother to me, she was my best friend.  We did everything together and shared most of our time together. She was my hero, and was truly the wind beneath my wings. like the song Bette Midler sang in the movie "Beaches". Which by the way was one of our favorite movies, and we watched it over and over, and cried, and laughed together.  It's the reason I picked that video to share with everyone.  She was my rock, my shoulder to lean and cry on, my secret keeper, and advisor.  She understood me like no one else could and was a hand to hold when I was afraid.  She was not afraid to tell me when I was wrong. And encouraged me from day to day.  She was the greatest woman I know, so strong yet gentle at the same time. And if I could be just a bit like her, my prayers would be answered.

My mom had the best sense of humor.  She'd tell funny jokes, and laugh a lot.  She loved to watch sitcoms on TV.  She loved those oldies like, "All In The Family", "The Golden Girls", "Happy Days", "Maude", "The Jefferson's", "Cheers", and  "Mash", just to name a few.  And she had a great love for movies and music, especially musicals.  That's how I grew to love and appreciate going to the movies, and enjoying the musicals, that I still love today. She'd take my sister and I to the movies just about every Sunday on her day off of work.  I would look forward to that day. She was such a hard worker and never complained. She worked for the same company for over 20 years. She was also a great friend and was loved and liked by so many. I don't really know anyone who didn't like her.

Another day of the week that I looked forward to while I was growing up was Wednesday.  That was another one of her days-off.  I remember coming home from school, and the house smelling so good, she'd spent the day cooking and cleaning. She was the neatest person I ever knew.  She kept an immaculate home.  I could hardly wait to get home from school, because she always made something extra special for dinner on her day off of work. I can still remember the wonderful smells coming from the house as I approached it. Those are some of my precious memories of my mom. That is embedded in my heart forever.

I chose the song " Flying With Angels" by Na Leo Pilimehana, simply because she is flying with the Angels now.  How do I know this?  While I was in crisis in the ICU, I died three times, and I had a NDE ( near death experience ) and just for a very brief time, I was met by my mother.  She was radiant, young and beautiful like the picture that you see above in this post.  It was in a place so beautiful and peaceful. You really can't describe it's beauty. Nothing like you will ever see here on earth. I was also met by my grandfather, the two people who meant the most to me in my life. And was told I must return," that it was not my time yet". I did  not want to return from this most beautiful peaceful place. I know there is a Heaven. And my mother is an Angel in Heaven. She is My Angel.

My mom was also a very strong woman, who came from very humble beginnings.  She went through many hardships in her life, yet she was still kind and gentle and  knew how to give unconditional love, and was the greatest mom and grandmother.  I chose to share the song " Time To Say Goodbye" By Andrea Bocelli; my all time favorite. It is so beautiful and heartfelt. We played this at her funeral service.  Saying goodbye was one of hardest things that I have ever had to do.  I was there with her when she gave up her last breath. I did not want to let her go, but I knew it was time to say goodbye!  She was so sick, and had suffered far too long.  Now she is at peace, and flies with the Angels.  Today this blog is dedicated to you My Mom! I love and miss you so much! You are in my heart forever, and someday Mom, I too will fly with the Angels with you!

A Mother's Love

 A mother's Love
for her child
is like nothing else
in the world.
It knows no law,
no pity...it dares all things
and crushes down
remorselessly
all that stands in it's path.

Forget To Take Notes

" God not only sends special angels into our lives,
but sometimes. He even sends them back again if
we forget to take notes the first time!"

I'll Fly Away │ Daves Highway

Daves Highway is a terrific teenage gospel group from Mississippi.  The members of the group are Delaney, Zachary and Erika Daves, and yes, they are siblings.  A friend of mine recommended that I listen to Daves Highway and I have found their music to be so uplifting to my spirit.  By-the-way they have a cool website that can found at this link:  Daves Highway - Official Website  Please give it a visit and help to support them by purchasing some of their music.

A Star In Heaven

Each of us represents a star in heaven.
Sometimes we shine with the rest.
Sometimes we twinkle alone.
And sometimes when we least expect it.
We make someone's dreams come true...

An Angel Will Be Waiting

  When you feel lost,
pause and look closely
around you. Somewhere,
somehow, an Angel
will be waiting to guide.
Let an Angel into your
life and comfort will
follow you wherever you go.

Tears

How wonderful it feels to give in and let tears flow when we are overwhelmed with emotions, whether we are happy or sad. Tears come from the soul, from our well of feelings rising from deep down. When we give in to the prickling behind our eyes and the lump in our throat to let teardrops fall from our eyes. We allow our feelings to surface so thay can be set free.  ~ Daily OM

Smile

Smile though your heart is aching
Smile even though it's breaking
When there are clouds in the sky, you'll get by
If you smile through your fear and sorrow
Smile and maybe tomorrow
You'll see the sun come shinning through for you.

Light up your face with gladness
Hide every trace of sadness
Although a tear may be ever so near
That's the time  you must keep on trying
Smile what's the use of crying?
You'll find that life is still worthwhile
if you just smile.

May God Give You

For every storm, a rainbow.
For every tear, a smile.
For every care, a promise,
and a blessing in each trial.
For every problem life sends,
a faithful friend to share.
For every sigh, a sweet song.
And an answer for each prayer.

The Angelic Voice Of Michael Junior

With all of the talk recently about The Rapture, and The End Of The World, it's about time that we settle down and find some peace in our lives.  It's unfortunate that a lot of people were taken in with the recent Dooms-Day prophecy that did not happen.  Let's take some time now to enjoy Michael Junior's beautiful rendition of Bach/Gounod's "Ave Maria".  Please click on this link to purchase Michael Junior's CD that contains the "Ave Maria" from Amazon.con:  Dreamland - Michael Junior  May The Peace And Joy Of Pure Angel Light Bless And Keep All Of You Safe And Warm.

Forgiveness

Anyone can hold a grudge, but it takes a person of character to forgive.  When you forgive, you release yourself from a painful burden.  Forgiveness doesn't mean what happened was OK, and it doesn't mean that person should still be welcome in your life.  It just means you have made peace with the pain, and are ready to let it go.

Irish Blessing

May the road rise up to meet you,
may the wind be ever at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face
and the rain softly on your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the hollow of his hand.

Little Angel On My Shoulder

 I'm not very big,
in fact I'm very small.
I sit on your shoulder,
and I hear when you call.
I go everywhere with you,
though you can't see me.
I'm with you always,
even in your dreams.
I share your laughter,
dry your tears when you cry.
And everyday I'm so proud,
cause I see how hard you try.
I don't have a name,
and I'll never grow older.
But, for as long as you live,
I'll be your little angel on your shoulder.

Watch

Watch your thoughts; they become words.
Watch your words; they become actions.
Watch your actions; they become habits.
Watch your habits; they become character.
Watch your character; they become your destiny.

The Wedding Ring

" The Wedding Ring goes on the left ring finger, because that is the only finger that has a vein going directly to the heart..."

You may be gone, but you are not forgotten.   You are always in my heart, and forever loved!

If I Had One Gift

If I had one gift that I could give you my friend,
it would be the ability to see yourself as others see you, because only then would you know how extremely special you truly are. I send blessings of love, light, and peace to you!

A Friend

 A friend gives hope
When life is low,
A friend is a place
when you have
nowhere to go.
A friend is honest,
a friend is true
A friend is precious
and that
My Friend Is You.

Prayer Is Prayer

Remember above all else, prayer is prayer. You don't have to follow a certain regimen in order to pray more effectively. You don't have to pray just like Mr. so-and so in order to please God. The important thing is that you pray!
