My Angel

Friends are like angels
without any wings
Blessing our lives
with the most precious things

With love and laughter
and lots of care.
Just like an angel
You're always there.

Dear Lord

Please help me to
remember today that
you are with me.
And no matter what
happens, we can
handle it
together.

Be Very Careful

Be very careful
if you make a woman cry,
because God counts her tears.
Every tear a woman shed is
equivalent of a man's sacrifices in life.
The woman came from a man's rib
not on his feet to be stepped on,
not on his head to be superior,
but on his side to be equal...
under his arm to be protected
and near his heart to be loved.

Risk

To laugh, is to risk playing the fool
To weep, is to risk appearing sentimental
To reach out to one another,  is to risk involvement
To expose feelings, is to risk exposing our true selves

To put your ideas, your dreams, before the crowd, is to risk loss
To love, is to risk not being loved in return
To live, is to risk dying
To hope, is to risk despair
To try all, is to risk failure

But risk must be taken
Because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing, has nothing, is nothing
They may avoid suffering and sorrow, but they simply cannot learn, change, feel, grow, love, live,.. changed by their attitudes they are slaves

Close your eyes, follow your heart, take a chance, for a new start
Let down your guard , knockdown the walls, take a chance, that you won't fall
Learn to live, by leaps and bounds, take a chance you'll leave the ground
Find the strength, to stay alive, take a chance, that you'll survive
Spread your wings, look to the sky, take a chance that you will fly.

If Tears Could Build A Stairway

If tears could build a stairway,
and memories a lane.
I would walk right up to heaven
and bring you back again.
No farewell words were spoken,
No time to say, " Goodbye."
You were gone before I knew it,
and only God knows why.
My heart still aches with sadness,
secret tears still flow.
What it meant to love you-
No one can ever know.
But now I know you want me
to mourn for you no more;
To remember all the happy times,
life still has much in store.
Since you'll never be forgotten,
I pledge to you today~
A hollowed place within my heart
is where you'll always stay.

~ In memory of my husband Terry, I love you so much! ~

God Made An Angel

God gave him peace of heart, and shoulders strong.
To bear the weight of troubles not his own.
With every darkened deed and day too long.
He reaps the fruit of sadness friends have sown.
God gave him angel wings, with which to shield.
The weak of heart, sweet wings to soar above.
The endless hurts the world will surely yield.
And grace those sad of heart with patient love.
God gave him hands, so mortal, yet so mild.
To hold the weak of heart close to his breast.
And calm their fears, their troubled storms so wild.
To let their pain and problems lay to rest.
God made an angel so those hurt can stand.
But if an angel, who will hold his hand?

O God Of All Creation

You have cared for the earth, and filled it with your riches. Abundance flows in your steppes, through the pastures and wilderness. You provide for our land, softening it with showers, bathing it in light, and blessing it with growth.

The hills sing with joy; the meadows are covered with flocks; the fields deck themselves with wheat; and together they glorify your name!

On this occasion of our thanksgiving, we as a nation take rest from our labor to consider your many blessings. We thank you for our freedom, and for the opportunity to contribute our skills, our attributes and our values toward the good of society.

We thank you for the mixture of our cultures, blending into one people under God. Help us to be a light onto other nations, and to further the cause of freedom and justice all over the world.

We remember those who are less fortunate than we. We lift up in prayer the victims of poverty and racism, and all those who suffer from forms of political and economic oppression. Let the words that goes forth from our mouths speak of your peace, and let us proclaim our hope in Christ as Savior of all humankind.

We pray that you will bless all those who gather here, as we have come to experience your presence among us. Give us your guidance, O God, and empower us for your work. For we claim nothing for ourselves, but return all honor and glory unto you, and offer our thanks and praise.
Amen

Wishing you all a very Happy and Blessed Thanksgiving. May your day be filled with Love, Joy and Peace. God Bless you all!

To Turn a Life Around

Too often we underestimate
the power of a touch, a smile,
a kind word, a listening ear,
a honest compliment,
or the smallest act of caring.
All of which have the potential
to turn a life around.

Ghandi's Prayer for Peace

 I offer you peace.
I offer you love.
I offer you friendship.
I see your beauty.
I feel your feelings.
My wisdom flows from
  the Highest Source.
I salute that Source in you.
  Let us work together
   for unity and love.

Don't

Don't write your name in the sand.
Waves will wash it away.
Don't write  your name in the sky.
Wind may blow it away.
Write your name in the hearts of
the people you come in touch with.
That's where it will stay.

Desiderata

Go placidly amid the noise and haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.

Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even to the dull and ignorant; they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons; they are vextations to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain or bitter, for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.

Enjoy each your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your own career however humble, its a real posession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism.
                         Be yourself.
Especially do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment, it is as perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imagings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here.

And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive him to be.
And whatever your labors and aspirtions, in the noisy confusion of life.
                      Keep peace in your soul.
With all it's sham, drudgery and broken dreams, its still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.

Angels' Poem

Angels shining, Angels bright
into your life they bring delight
The shining halos on their head
sinless souls they have led

To the gates of Heaven up above
full of sweetness, full of love
Beautiful wings that they have earned
for teaching love, that we have learned

Our souls to Heaven, the Angels lead
for those of us who earned the deed
The Angels sing their Glory song
to let us know it won't be long

For Christ to come once again
To take with him those without sin
When Gods full plan has been done
We will be taken one by one

A Wonderous Place

It's said there is a wonderous place
where all the angels dwell
A place far beyond our vision
A place where beauty fell

I've heard it said the angels fly
throughout this place all day
and if you stop and listen
you can hear the harp they play

I've never seen an angel
I've never seen one fly
But I just know somehow they're watching
From a majestic place up high

I have heard it said they're always with us
Though some days we seem to fail
But when we reach out to touch a heart
We truly walk where angel dwell

Somewhere in the clouds
Somewhere far away
Is the castle that I long for
It's only a dream away!

Night Time Prayer

Time has come for me to sleep,
And I thank you for Thy keep.
Watch this night well over me.
Teach me Lord to trust in Thee.
Many sins I've done today
Please Lord take them all away.
Look upon me in Thy grace.
Make me pure before Thy face.
Care for children sick and poor.
Grant them Lord Thy blessings more.
Care for Mom and Dad the same.
This I pray in Jesus' Name.
  Amen

Angels Are All Around Us

Angels are all around us, most of us know this.
Some are too cynical or busy to take notice.
Some think they just have wings and fly.
But others don't even question why.
They look like you and me, they all have a purpose.
They are only here to guide us and serve us.
How many times have we said, " that was close!"
And went on to feel depressed and morosed?
We never even thought of how lucky we are
to have these angels provide us with care.
So next time you see a beggar on the street
remember to greet him and be real sweet.
For it just might be a test from God
to see how loving you'll be to this sot.
So get in your car or catch the bus.
But please don't forget whose watching over us.
Thank them and cherish them and give them praise
and you will be blessed the rest of your days.

Words To Live By

If you are honest, people may cheat you.
Be honest anyway.
If you find happiness, people may be jealous.
Be happy anyway.
The good you do today, may be forgotten tomorrow.
Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have and it may never be enough.
Give your best anyway.
For you see, in the end, it is between you and God.
It was never between you and them anyway.

Dear God

I will hide your word within my heart
To call upon each day
To calm me when the trials appear,
Or trouble comes my way.
I will remember how you promised me
That all things work for good
I will be steadfast in my prayers
And have faith, the way I should.
My very life is in your hands,
My heart is yours to mold
Each part of me belongs to you,
Forgive me when I fail to live
The way you want me to
Restore in me, undying faith
And make me more like you.
                 Amen

In Life

In life we do things. Some we wish we had never done. Some we wish we could replay a million times in our heads. But they make us who we are. And in the end they shape every detail about us. If we were to reverse any of them, we wouldn't be the person we are. So just live, make mistakes, have wonderful memories. But never second guess who you are, where you have been. And most importantly where it is you're going!

Always Be True To Yourself

Always be yourself.
Never try to hide who you are.
The only shame is to have shame.
Always stand up for what you believe in.
Always question what other people tell you.
Never regret the past. It's a waste of time.
There's a reason for everything.
Every mistake, every moment of weakness,
every terrible thing that has happened to you.
Grow from it. The only way you can get
the respect of others is when you show
them that you respect yourself. And most
importantly do your thing and never apologize
for being you!

My Sister, My Friend

Sister we've been there through life's sorrow and pain, but together we have always endured the strain. We've argued and bickered and made each other mad, but if you weren't my sister, life would be so sad. We've cried till we laughed and laughed till we cried, sometimes for no reason we didn't even know why. When we're not together our bond is just as strong, because we are sisters we know when something is wrong. We've whispered our deepest secrets only sisters could share. I love my sister dearly because she really cares. So whether we're together or we are far apart. You're my sister, my friend and forever in my heart.

I Love You My Sister

Last night was the best and most wonderful night of my life. I was reunited with my sister, we had not seen each other for over 13 years. Words cannot describe the feelings that went through me when I first saw her. My heart was filled with the greatest of all joy and love. I have missed my sister so very much. It was so surreal, I felt like I was dreaming! Thanks to my brother-in-law for surprising her with a trip to Hawaii for their 30th wedding anniversary. We had a family reunion last night. We all went out to dinner, my brother, my son and his wife, and my two precious grandsons, whom they got to meet for the very first time. Our family is very small. And that was all of us on the island. A great time was had by all. The children enjoyed getting to know their grand-aunt and uncle and took to them right away. Hugs and kisses were easily exchanged between all. My brother who is very funny kept us all laughing. We had great food, local comfort food (yummy!) And the warm friendly Hawaiian atmosphere was just fantastic! The restaurant was very kid friendly too, a great plus. The long time apart quickly melted away. And it seemed just like yesterday that we were together. We three siblings have been through the worst of times growing up together, and we survived. And for me this was the greatest blessing I could ever have. If I should leave this earth today, I would leave with a full and happy heart. All my dreams have come true. Thank you Brother-In-Law for bringing my sister home to me. I can hardly wait for Saturday, we are going on a dinner cruise together. They will be leaving for the mainland on Sunday. It will be our last night together, we three siblings. I am counting down the hours and minutes. To make it more memorable. My Son who is a Boat Captain will be driving the Catamaran that night. I am so looking forward to this. Don't know when we will all be able to be together again.
I Love You Little Sister!

The Knots Prayer

 Dear God,

Please untie the knots,
that are in my mind,
my heart and my life.
Remove the have nots,
the can nots and the do nots
that I have in my mind.

Erase the will nots,
may nots, and
might nots that find
a home in my heart.

Release me from the could nots,
would nots and
should nots that obstruct my life.

And most of all, dear God,
I ask that you remove from my mind
my heart and my life all of the am nots
that I have allowe to hold me back,
especially the thought
that I am not good enough.

Amen.

Someday

 Someday everything will all
make perfect sense, so for now,
laugh at the confusion,
smile through the tears,
and keep reminding
yourself that everything
happens for a reason.

Believe In Yourself

Believe in yourself and you values,
don't sell out when things go wrong.
Don't let anyone get you down,
always bounce back up.

Set goals for your future,
never settle for anything less.
Realize that there are others in the world,
with much bigger problems than you.

Appreciate the good things in life,
and be thankful for the time
you have with your loved ones.
Spend more time with your family and friends.

Appreciate the simple things in life,
and don't get caught up in material things.

Before

Before you speak, listen.
Before you write, think.
Before you spend, earn.
Before you invest, investigate.
Before you  critize, wait.
Before you pray, forgive.
Before you quit, try.
Before you retire, save.
Before you die, give.

Unconditional Love

Love is patient, Love is kind
Love is learning to be blind.
To others faults, it keeps no score,
Love is learning much much more.

Love protects, and always trusts,
Perseverance is a must.
Love is facing stormy weather,
Hand in hand, we walk together.

Love is honest, not deceiving,
In God and others, we keep believing.
Love is learning to forgive
As Jesus taught us how to live.

True love we find will not forsake.
But always gives more than it takes.
Love is learning to rejoice.
In all we face, it is our choice.

We are learning the meaning of love.
As given to us by God above.

My Guardian Angel

 You spread out your wings,
then took me by the hand,
you taught me how to fly,
when I'd forgotten how to stand.
You showed me the moon,
and the stars in the sky,
you brought me back to life,
when I'd lost the will to try.
You are my guardian angel,
heaven sent from up above,
you opened up my heart,
and filled it back with love.

Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi

Make me an instrument of your peace...
Where there is hatred.. let me sow love...
Where there is injury.. pardon...
Where there is doubt.. faith...
Where there is despair.. hope...
Where there is darkness.. light...
Where there is sadness.. joy...

O Divine Creator
Grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console...
To be understood as to understand...
To be loved as to love...

for it is in giving that we recieve...
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned...
And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

Myasthenia Snowflakes

MGr's are like the Snowflakes,
All unique ~ you will agree
MG is something that affect us,
Each so differently!

The Snowflakes, no two alike,
Are special in many ways,
They're delicate, but yet so strong,
And they dance on the coldest days.

And like the Snowflakes that band together,
In the sun they seem to shine,
MGr's give hope to each other,
To get through the toughest times.

Every Snowflake brings to mind,
How special you are -
You're one of a kind!

Living With Myasthenia Gravis

On a good morning, we awake with a dollars worth of nickels in our pocket, or perhaps we find them after our first dose of mestinon.

We must decide how to spend this precious supply.

Shall we shower, dress, make the bed, have breakfast, go to a job, and recklessly spend them all at once? Perhaps, we should just use twenty-five cents, and dress without the shower or shave. Leave the bed unmade for later and spend five to fifteen cents for breakfast. We alone may judge from our recent experience.

Having decided, we act, and our precious deposits is put into an invisible slot, filled with invisible batteries. These batteries kick in slowly and we drain their reserve.

When it is close to gone, we force ourselves to rest. As the day progresses, we decide to do a small chore. The shower, shave, and shampoo? Five more nickels perhaps, the bed? One nickel perhaps, housecleaning? Going to work?

How many nickels will we have to spend today? For many of us we can barely afford one nickel at a time. Today, if we have the luxury of time for a rest period or a nap. We might awaken with a sudden new supply of nickel in our pocket. Probably our next dose of mestinon will provide us with a fresh supply. For others, we may find we've chosen unwisely and squandered our day's wealth, and borrowed from tomorrow, to do what had to be done today to improve our quality of life.

The debt must be repaid, and time in bed will be the price. We can gamble them all away, or spend them carefully. When we awake, morning after morning, with pocket full of nickels. Such an abundance that we no longer have to count them. WE HAVE ACHIEVED MYASTHENIA GRAVIS REMISSION!
